Journey Series –

The purpose of the Journey Series is to present the Word of God in a simple, practical way that is true to the Scriptures and offers an exciting growth experience to both mature and new believers. Get your ticket (simply enroll) and journey through these fantastic studies:

  • Journey into Hope: When Life is Tough (A Study of 1 Peter) – David DeBerry, Facilitator, Room 6

All of us can relate to 1 Peter because it is about problems, which we have on a regular basis. However, we must realize that our problems are not accidents; they are appointments. They are appointments with things God places in our lives to develop and mature us. May the Lord use this study to let you have a “journey into hope” when your life is tough.

  • Journey into Joy (A Study of Philippians) – Sandra Marshall, Facilitator, Room 5

Do you know anyone who seems joyful all the time? When you meet them and ask how they are doing, they always answer, “Super,” “Fantastic,” or “Great.” With all of life’s disappointments and difficulties, we just think that no one could be joyful all the time. However, in the study of Philippians we find that joy can be a constant part of every believer’s life.

  • Journey Into A Practical Faith – Samuel Tamrie, Facilitator, Room 4

The epistle of James has been called the “Proverbs of the New Testament” because it addresses the practicalities of everyday Christian life. It is a book that reveals the delusion of a faith without works or love. James deals with difficult issues, such as the blessings of trials, the dangers of temptation, behavior over belief, and creed over conduct.

  • Journey into Powerful Prayer (A Study of the Lord’s Prayer) – Michael Copeland, Facilitator, Room 8

Do you ever feel like your prayers have no power? Do you ever wonder if you even really know how to pray? It is interesting to note that as the disciples travel with Jesus, they never ask Him to teach them to be great teachers, like He is, or to show them how to perform miracles. However, one thing about Jesus impresses them so much they want to know how to do it – Pray! Come and share in these great lessons: “Winning Over Worry,” “Forgiving Those Who Hurt You,” “Turning Down Temptation” and other outstanding lessons.

These sessions are recommended for all believers – mature and new believers alike. You can only enroll in ONE class at a time.

SMART Money Management – Ruby Marshall Jacobs, Kevin Anderson, Facilitators, Room Racquetball Room 1

In this class you will learn some basics on saving, spending, taxes, investing, estate planning, charitable contributions, stewardship, Christians relationship with money and what the bible says about money, money management, and budgeting.   Serious about becoming debt free? This class is for you!

Recommended for all members

Thursdays, 6 – 7 p.m.

Shattered Dreams – Gerina Whethers, Facilitator, Room 305

This class is for those of you who want to be as real as God intended you to be, you will want to hold on to every word and principles that you will learn in these sessions. It will minister to your heart – your longing to know God rather than use Him! Shattered Dreams is intended to take genuine seekers of truth through a discovery of true hope that will generate a “new unfamiliar feeling that we will eventually recognize as joy.”

Recommended for all new and matured believers

Sundays, 9:40 – 10:40 a.m.

Really Bad Girls of the Bible – Ivory Rollins, Facilitator, Room BJ Miller Book Store

These shady ladies from Scripture stroll across the pages of the Bible proving that when it comes to badness there’s nothing new under the sun! The Medium of En Dor dabbled in the dark arts; Tamar the Widow used her feminine wiles to claim what was rightfully hers. Herodias, Athaliah, and Jael committed murder. The Adulteress and Bathsheba engaged in scandalous behavior. Yes, they were really bad in their time. Yet a closer look at their lives reveal God’s truth, shining through the centuries and illuminating the darker corners of our own hearts..

Recommended for ALL women, the good, the bad and the ugly!

NOTE: Students may receive Continuing Education Credits from Simmons College of Kentucky for completing 5 sessions
