  2. Isaiah saw Him. . .

Isaiah 6:1-4 (GNT)

1     In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord. He was sitting on his throne, high and exalted, and his robe filled the whole Temple.

2     Around him flaming creatures were standing, each of which had six wings. Each creature covered its face with two wings, and its body with two, and used the other two for flying.

3     They were calling out to each other: “Holy, holy, holy! The Lord Almighty is holy! His glory fills the world.”

4     The sound of their voices made the foundation of the Temple shake, and the Temple itself became filled with smoke.

  • Ezekiel saw Him. . .

Ezekiel 1:26-28 (NCV)

26  Now above the dome there was something that looked like a throne. It looked like a sapphire gem. And on the throne was a shape like a human.

27  Then I noticed that from the waist up the shape looked like glowing metal with fire inside. From the waist down it looked like fire, and a bright light was all around.

28  The surrounding glow looked like the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day. It seemed to look like the glory of the Lord.  So when I saw it, I bowed face down on the ground and heard a voice speaking.

  • Daniel Saw Him. . .

Daniel 7:9-10 (NLT)

9    I watched as thrones were put in place and the Ancient One sat down to judge. His clothing was as white as snow, his hair like purest wool. He sat on a fiery throne with wheels of blazing fire,

10  and a river of fire was pouring out, flowing from his presence. Millions of angels ministered to him; many millions stood to attend him. Then the court began its session, and the books were opened.

  • John Saw Him. . .

Revelation 4:1-2 (NLT)

1 Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”

2 And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it.

Lesson 1:    Who are YOU looking at?

  • Past:               Look backward and remember
  • Present:         Look upward and recognize
  • Future:           Look forward and realize

Isaiah 45:22 (NLT) Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.

Hebrews 12:2 (NCV) Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But he accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.

Psalm 5:3 (KJV) My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

We should look to the throne of God because His throne is. . .

  1. A Sovereign throne
  2. A throne of grace
  3. A throne of mercy

Hebrews 4:16 (NCV) Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it.

Lesson 2:     Whatever the situation, God is in control!

  1. Phone Him
  2. Praise Him

Lesson 3:    We have an invitation to bring our problems to The Throne!
