Matthew 13:53-58 NIV
53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there.
54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.
55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?
56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”
57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor.”
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
John 1:46 NIV – “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.
Hebrew 11:6 NIV – And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Mark 9:23 NIV – “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”
Hebrews 11:29 NIV – By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
Ephesians 2:8 NIV – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–
1 John 1:9 NIV – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Faith makes all things possible but faith doe not make things easy.
