How to Receive the Power of God

Acts 1:6-8 NAS

6     So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”

7     He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;

8     but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

2 Corinthians 1:8-10 NLT8 We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 10 And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.

II. Receive God’s promise to you

We are witnesses by what we:

  1. Say
  2. Do
  3. Are

III. Respond to God’s program for you
