Exodus 14:14 KJV
The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
John 14:27-28 CEV
27 I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn’t like the peace that this world can give. So don’t be worried or afraid.
28 You have already heard me say that I am going and that I will also come back to you. If you really love me, you should be glad that I am going back to the Father, because he is greater than I am.
Peace is the ABSENCE of worry and fear, born out of the confidence in knowing that God is in CONTROL in all the circumstances of life.
Peace is not something you FIND, it is something that FINDS you.
Galatians 5:22 NLT – But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
I. Peace comes when we are right with GOD – ETERNAL peace
Rom. 5:1 CEV – By faith we have been made acceptable to God. And now, because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live at peace[a] with God.
There is a HOLE in your SOUL that only God can fill.
No God, No Peace
Know God, Know Peace
Peace with God brings
• A clear conscience
• New benefits
• New beginnings
II. Peace comes when we are right with OURSELVES – INTERNAL peace.
Colossians 3:15 NLT – And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Phil 4:6-7 CEV – 6 Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. 7 Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.
• Haunted by the past – internal panic
• Fearful in the present
• Terrified of the future
Internal peace allows us to:
• Learn from the past
• Live in the present
• Lean in the future

Psalm 85:10 CEV – Love and loyalty will come together; goodness and peace will unite.
American’s African-American Policy
Exploitation of our labor
Exclusion of our participation
Expendability of our personhood
Making an apology is not making amends
1954 – blacks got public accommodation
1965 – blacks got voting right
1968 – blacks got open housing
Polis is the Greek word for CITY
We will never fix the POLICE until we fix the POLICIES in America put in place by POLITICIANS that have always adversely affected African Americans.
America’s policy toward African Americans has been EXPLOITATION, EXCLUSION, EXPENDABILITY.
Integration (open housing) was the selective assimilation of MIDDLE CLASS BLACKS into WHITE SPACE on WHITE TERMS, leaving the urban poor left behind in poor, low opportunity neighborhoods.
The price of peace is GOOD WILL TOWARDS OTHERS!
2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV – To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19 CEV – What we mean is that God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace.
