The Glory of Conversion

Matthew 18:1-5 KJV
1    At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2    And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3    And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4    Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5    And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Categories muttered to Jesus were the converted and unconverted.

Conversion is not:
1.    Proselytism
Matthew 23:15 GNV – “How terrible for you, teachers of the Law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You sail the seas and cross whole countries to win one convert; and when you succeed, you make him twice as deserving of going to hell as you yourselves are!

2.    Participationism
John 6:70 KJV – Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
Matthew 13:24-30 KJV – 24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Whenever we are converted, we should be able to state, I am converted from something and for something.

3.    Performance
John 1:12-13 KJV – 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Conversion is the process by which, the Spirit of God, takes the Word of God and makes the people of God like the Son of God

From self-centered to Savior-centered – From me-centered to Master-centered

Luke 9:46-47 GNV – 46 An argument broke out among the disciples as to which one of them was the greatest. 47 Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he took a child, stood him by his side,…

(v. 3)
