The Lord said through the prophet Haggai, "You hope for much but get so little. And when you bring it home, I blow it away--it doesn't last at all. Why? Because my Temple lies in ruins and you don't care. Your only concern is your own fine homes. That is why I am holding back the rains from heaven and giving you such scant crops."
Haggai 1:9,10 (Living)
"Think it over, says the Lord Almighty. Consider how you have acted, and what has happened as a result!"
Haggai 1:7 (Living)
Many of us, like the people of Judah, have a problem of confused priorities. Homes, possessions, jobs, vacations, leisure activities, rank higher on our list of importance than God and His work. We may tell ourselves they don't but it becomes obvious when we look at how we spend most of our time and money. God clearly says here, that if He is put on the back burner, and His church house is allowed to remain in disrepair, He will withhold His blessings. Not only physical blessings but spiritual blessings as well.
Are you still waiting for a breakthrough? Then consider who and what is first in your life.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
